Boyd Hotel Restoration
The Boyd Hotel was built in 1897 as a wooden building. After the big fire in Jerome when the building burned down, it was rebuilt with brick.
Kitty Christian Boyd Crain owned this building and was known to be the most successful female hotel proprietor in Jerome.
The lower level of the Boyd has housed a variety of shops throughout its lifetime including: The Independent Meat Market, The Club Bar, photography studio and mortuary. The top two floors of the building have been used as a hotel and boarding house. But after 1937 there is no evidence that that the Boyd was listed in the Business Directories and possibly was abandoned.
The restoration of the Boyd Hotel is now complete and nearly totally rented.
